Brass Band Northern Area Championships 2013

Marple and Hawk Green band competed against each other for the first time in their history at Blackpool on the 10th of March 2013. There were sixteen bands competing in the third section of the Northern area Championship. Marple played 15th and were first and Hawk Green played 3rd came a very respectable third.

Marple Carnival 2013

The theme for Marple's 51st Carnival was SHOWTIME and featured a Skate Park Event arranged by Friends of Marple Memorial Park as part of their project to upgrade the skate park. As always, if you took any good shots on the day, please send them in to added to this album.

Chadkirk Festival 2013

The 17th Chadkirk festival on Sunday 28 July delivered a day filled with live music, fantastic shows and demonstrations. A variety of stalls including crafts and hand made goods in the gardens of Chadkirkâ€™s picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for an amazing family day out.

Marple Festival 2013

2013's Marple Festival was a mini-festival focused mainly around the Food and Drink Day over the weekend of 13 to 15 September. There were events on the Market Street Precinct on the Saturday with bands playing at "Marplebury" on Derby Way and a weekend-long beer festival at Marple Cricket Club. This album captures the best moments from the Festival taken by local photographers. Please send in yours.
